About Light High School

Over two decades of nurturing bright minds and building exceptional character in the heart of Uganda.

A School Born from a Vision

Light High School was founded in 1999 by a group of passionate educators who believed that every Ugandan child deserved access to quality secondary education. Starting with just three streams and 180 students in a rented building, the school quickly earned a reputation for academic rigour and moral excellence.

By 2005, the school had constructed its own permanent premises on Plot 42, Kampala–Entebbe Road, adding science laboratories, a library, and dormitories to accommodate the growing demand for boarding places. Today, we serve over 1,200 students from across Uganda and the wider East African region.

Registered with the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and the Ministry of Education and Sports, Light High School continues to grow — investing in facilities, teacher training, and student welfare to remain at the forefront of secondary education.
